NOVEMBER: TEA TIME, 2012, & CIRQUE DU SOLEIL!

November is now the perfect month. Not only do you get Turkey Break and hordes of pumpkin-flavored treats (Has anyone tried Jamba's new pumpkin smoothie? Verdict?), you also get lots of of cool/free/really cheap building events that we've planned just for you. So get excited.

(We have limited 2012/Cirque du Soleil tickets, so pay attention to sign-up times.)

1. Late Night Tea: 11/3
Take a break from studying. Or not studying. (Probably the latter.) Anyways, relax and sip on some FREE BOBA next Tuesday, Nov. 3 @ 10 p.m. in the lounge.

2. 2012 (the movie with lots of death and destruction and things that are blown up): 11/13

Come watch the world blow up and John Cusack come out alive (probably) on the opening night of 2012 with fellow Webbsters! It's all going down (literally) Nov. 13th @ the brand new Regal Cinemas in LA Live. We'll be meeting at 5:30 pm, taking the spankin' new USC-LA Live Tram (Woo! Now we have one semi non-sketchy mode of transportation to go to one semi non-sketchy LA venue. I swear, USC's becoming better and better every day), and watching the 7 o'clock show.

Tickets are $2/resident. Sign up and pay on Tuesday, Nov. 10 @ 10 p.m.

3. Cirque du Soleil- Kooza: 11/24

Flying acrobats! Bright colors! Sparkly costumes! Think Knocked Up, but without the shrooms. Watch Cirque du Soleil's Kooza on Nov. 24th with fellow Webb residents. Show starts at 8 p.m.; we'll be meeting at 5:30 in the lounge.

Discounted price of $20/ticket. Sign-ups are on Thursday, Nov. 12 @ 10 p.m.

IT'S PUMPKIN TIME!

Just because you don't have a front porch doesn't mean you can't carve pumpkins for Halloween!

Come down to the Webb Lounge Oct. 25 (THIS SUNDAY) at 8-10 p.m. to knife some pumpkins, munch on candy corn and get in the All Hallow's Eve spirit with fellow Webbsters!

Acing the Interview/The Office: TONIGHT!

Jobs are a rare commodity these days, kind of like bald eagles. Endangered. Verging on extinct.

Learn how to nail your interviews, get that coveted six-figure (or less) job and avoid working at McD's for the rest of your life tonight at Acing the Interview, an informal but informative program that'll teach you the practical skills you need to show recruiters who's boss (well technically, they are, but we're speaking figuratively here).

Immediately following is Webb's weekly screening of The Office- WITH SNACKS!!! (By the way, Rainn Wilson was at Bovard last night!)

*** BONUS: Attending Acing the Interview will earn you a Lakers raffle ticket! Woo!

Good news!

Glad to see those dusty red flip-flops abandoned by the stairwell on the first floor have been claimed by their negligent owner/whoever felt like taking them... They were beginning to look very sad indeed.

Dumbledore's Army

Spotted by the elevators: A sign-up sheet for Dumbledore's Army.

Don't know who's behind it (Hermione, no doubt), but whoever you are, I applaud you. Lord knows our frivolous institutional education alone could never prepare us for what's really out there.

Learn how to cook- THIS WEDNESDAY IN 801!

Stop starving yourself like a pathetic college student and head over to Room 801 at 5 p.m. this Wednesday, Oct. 7 to learn how to cook some delicious, college-friendly concoctions with our faculty staff mentor Allison Engel!

On the menu: city chicken, ground beef chili and dessert crepes.

Nom nom nom.

All Webb residents are invited. Space is limited, so come early (and hungry)!
